Besides partying and being crazy, diving is surely Phuket's main attraction. In the summer season, the predominant breeze is from the south west and can be fairly brisk. In the winter season, the breeze is from the North East and is much milder. So some great sites are accessible in one season but not the other.

Overall, there's pretty good diving year-round but the winter season (December, January) are the busiest with the most accessible dives and the best conditions (visibility, current/surge).
