Koh Yao Noi is just to the north of Koh Yao Yai. Both are right in the middle of Phang Nga Bay and the marine sanctuary. There are idyllic little islands and beaches all around the area. The resorts are only an hour away from either Phuket or Krabi but nonetheless, they would be considered "getaway" resorts.

Both islands are very quiet. There are very few cars (becuase very few roads). The locals farm rubber plantations and work the fishing boats. The surrounding islands are famous for their "hongs" or rooms- lagoons inside of the island. The James Bond movie Man with the Golden Gun was shot up in the northern part of the at (of course) James Bond Island.
